There are many factories within the Old City Safed (Tzfat) and the Upper Galilee that visitors can see that include cheese, chocolate, and wineries.
The HaMeiri Dairy has been operated by the same family for six generations and produces some of the highest quality goat and sheep cheeses since 1840. The dairy transforms about 50,000 liters of sheep’s milk a year into tasty salty white Tzfat cheeses ("Tsfatit cheese").
The Dairy offers a 45 minute tour that highlights short stories about Tzfat and the the six generations of the Hameiri Family dynasty, the name behind the "Tsfatit cheese".
The tour will include a sound and light show documentary describing day to day productions at the dairy.
At the conclusion of the tour, free samples of dairy cheeses will be provided after which visitors will have the opportunity to purchase the dairies gourmet cheeses and some unique products from the dairy shop.

The Kadosh Dairy was founded 100 years ago by the Kadosh family's great grandfather who immigrated to Safed, Israel from Morocco. The dairy produces "Kashkaval" Cheese, Tzfat Cheese, and a variety of other cheeses that include blue cheese, Merlot wine cheese, goat's cheese, Bulgarian cheese, ricotta cheese, and yogurt camambert
Guided tours are offered where you can watch cheese being produced on Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday between 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM. The dairies sells cheeses, and other items such as, halav with honey, stuffed grape leaves, tahini desert, flat pancake (Large "laffa"), and local wines. Visitors can purchase a sample plate with 10 cheeses and bread or purchase a meal for under 50 NIS per person.

Karina and Gyora Chaplinski De Karina Chocolate Factory who immigrated to the Golan Heights, Israel from Argentina, founded the De Karina Chocolate Factory in 2006. The De Karina Chocolate Factory produces one of the best premium chocolates and is located in Ein Zivan (Small Kibbutz) in the heart of the Northern Golan Heights. Individuals and groups can visit the factory's visitors center and participate in various activities and experiences that include guided tours, Chocolate tasting, and workshops for adults, kids, and groups. The De Karina gift shop offers various products and gifts such as grommet chocolates, limited edition chocolates, and much more. All chocolates are Glatt Kosher milk parve.

The Abouhav Boutique Winery was founded by Yigal Bitton in 2014 and produces 15,000 bottles of Boutique wine each year for both domestic and worldwide consumption. The boutique winery offers a collection of a variety of wines that include: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, and Irbuvia. The wines are stored for 18th months in oak barrels that rest in an ancient underground wine cellar that dates back to the 16th century. The vineyards in the Upper Galilee are grown on terraces that are located at 780 meters where the air is cold and fresh. The winery offers private dinners and wine tasting for families, groups and individuals. The Abouhav Winery that is located in the heart of the Old City of Safed.

Moshe Alon who returned to Tzfat Israel from Thailand founded the ancient Safed Winery in 2010. The winery is located in the heart of the Artist Quarter, Safed. The winery is a boutique winery that utilizes both traditional manufacturing process and modern technology that produces 20,000 bottles a year and offers a variety of wines that include Cabernet Sauvignon, sweet and dry Merlot, Gewuziraminer, and Cabernet Frank wines. The winery offers guided wine tasting and tours for individuals, families, and groups.

The Haruni family who immigrated to Israel from the United Kingdom founded the Dalton Winery in 1995.
The winery is located in the Dalton Industrial Park, North of Tzfat in the Upper Galilee (Merom Hagalil) in an area with spectacular picturesque views of the Hula Valley and snow peaked Mount Hermon and within minutes from its vineyards. The winery is a boutique winery that utilizes a modern manufacturing production facility and produces one million bottles a year from both domestic and worldwide consumption and offers a variety of wines that include Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay,Petit, Syrah, Shiraz, and Zinfandel. The winery features a visitor's center and offers 45 minute guided tours of the winery that includes the barrel room, bottling line, and a wine tasting session for individuals, families, and groups. Booking in advance is highly recommended to avoid disappointment of fully booked tours. The last tour takes place one hour before closing. The winery offers special tours for religious visitors once a day that includes wine tasting with the winery's Rabbi upon request.

Yehiel Yashfe who who immigrated from Russia founded the Yashfe Winery in 1998 and produces about 5,000 bottles annually. Yehiel produces high quality homemade wine that is produced by feet without any additives and preservatives like during the times of the first and second temples accordance with traditional Jewish customs. Yehiel has adopted a trademark for his wine "It's not another wine". The winery offers a limited homemade collection of wines that include dry and sweet Sauvignon Blanc, dry and semi-dry Cabernet Sauvignon, dry and semi-dry Merlot, and Chardonnay.
Guided tours and wine tasting is available for individuals and groups where Yehiel Yashfe and his wife will describe how the wine process works and provide a few samples of wine which you can purchase at the end of the tour. The winery also offers meals, wine, and music with prior arrangements for groups.
