Jewish Quarter

The Jewish Quarter is also referred as the Synagogue Quarter because of the number of ancient synagogues located throughout the Jewish Quarter in the Old City of Tzfat.

Visitors exploring the Jewish Quarter will find how the city of Kabbalah and Jewish Mysticism had an inspirational influence on the history of many of Tzfat’s ancient synagogues that are located in the Jewish Quarter that have survived catastrophic earthquakes.

Today Tzfat’s ancient synagogues conduct regular prayer services and a visit to the Synagogue quarter would not be complete without taking a step back in time and discovering the many of the ancient Tzfat synagogues that begins at Beit Yosef Street. Please choose from the many ancient synagogue from the provided list below.

Abuhav Street is known for the various painted color walls in blue and green that acts like prayer clock signaling the time to begin morning prays.
